I too am new to this blogging world. I will be sending you data from Waimea Canyon Middle School in Kauai. Aloha
My question is what time do you really want me to do this... we do not honor Daylight Savings time here in Hawaii. Do you want my noon, or three hours from Los Angeles time?

Go to http://www.srrb.noaa.gov/highlights/sunrise/sunrise.html on the day you are going to take your measurement, or you can go any day you want and change the date. Change the city to whatever your city is (Honolulu would be the nearest), or if you really want to get picky you can enter your exact longitude and latitude, and the site will give you the time for your solar noon. That's what I do.
